Tony Bennett, totally awesome concert last night!

In a couple of previous posts I have related my concert-going experiences at Casino Rama, which is located in Orillia, Ontario. Last week we saw what I guess could be called a tribute band to Led Zeppelin (I will post a separate review for that) and it was very good! Last night, the musical genre is the complete opposite. We saw Tony Bennett live and he absolutely mesmerized the theatre. He sang for one and three-quarters of an hour nonstop and the crowd refused to leave. He had four standing ovations and ended up giving about four encores. His voice, as always, is as smooth and mellow as good wine. He sang all the hits he is associated with, and while he had a couple of senior moments (forgot some lyrics, attributed the wrong song to a certain songwriter) he was so self-deprecating, funny, and rolled with the punches that it added to our enjoyment. He even did some pretty slick moves, dancing away whenever the mood hit him--which was often. I SO LOVE TONY BENNETT! And I yelled it out loud too! I hope he comes to do another concert soon again! What about you, fellow myLotters, what do you think of his music and style?

I am a fan of his as well and I am glad to know that you went and really had a great time. That is so good. Wish it was me. I don't even care if he had senior moments; The man is 80 years old and still doing concerts! that is so cool.

80 years old??? You'd swear he wasn't a day past 50, he was so perky, energetic, and several times he held a note for as long as 20 seconds! Me I can't last more than 10 seconds I'll be screaming for my puffer....Glad to know there is another person (you) who has good taste in music as well! :-]

This is so GREAT!!!!! Tony Bennett is coming to Kitchener, and my husband and I got the L A S T two tickets!!! We wanted to book at the end of the month, but we knew we'd never get seats that way, so we called my mother, and she booked them on her credit card. We'll send her a check post-dated to payday. Tony is going to appear on Dec 14th. Hubby (who's last name also happens to be Bennett!!) and I are super excited to be going.
