Worried about my cat getting sick from flea treatment.

My cat cleans herself after flea treatments and I'm worried that she'll get sick.
I don't want to use harmful chemicals on her fur, but can't live with the fleas.
I'd love to find an over the counter non-toxic flea control solution, safe for use on pets.
Please help!

This may sound crazy but I use the regular blue Dawn dish soap. The hardest part is getting the cat to take a bath.lol. All you need is a little bit of it, lather it up good and then rinse well. You'll be amazed at how many fleas die. The only thing is that it won't keep the fleas away.

What kind of flea treatment do you currently use? The one I've found most effective for both dogs and cats is Frontline Plus. Put it at the back of their necks. They can't reach that part by licking themselves.
