Separated from your children

Well, my baby's preschool is coming up soon. And, it will officially be the longest separation that we've been through so far. I think she'll be fine. But, I don't think I'll handle it well. What's the longest period of time that you were separated from your children? How did you help them cope with the separation? Phone calls? Letters? Better yet, how did you cope? Please share.

It's so aching. But that was before when my eldest daughter was one year old. I delivered my second baby so i'll let her stay in my inlaw's house and i used to see her every weekend. That was the routine for 2 years until we decided to get her back coz i can manage now to take care of them with her little sister. There were sleepless nights, I cried because that was not supposed to be that way. It's different when they grow with their parents. Time together is very important.
