drugs can kill you?

I quick point on drugs which i heard the other day about drugs which may be one of the reasons we are having such problems with drugs.
And that is we are totally ill educating our children about drugs. From day 1 we tell our kids "drugs are bad" and that you shouldn't do drugs and that your a bad person if you do drugs. You grow up quite scared of drugs and what they could do to you.
but when you hit those teenage years when you try drugs for the first time and you find out drugs are great and make you feel wonderful and that your parents have been lying to them their whole life about how great they are so u decide you know best and continue to take them.
It is being suggest that telling our kids about the good side of drugs and how they make you fell along with the very harsh consequences that go a long with that may stop as many young people today turning for drugs and getting hooked before they even know whats happening.
Just wondered if anyone agreed with that?

the reason we have such a big problem is we are teaching our kids the wrong things about drugs. we should be telling them about the good sides of drugs and how they make u feel but also let them know of the horrible consequence of this as well. So that when our kids do eventually try drugs its not such a shock how good it feels and maybe they wouldn't get hooked so easy.

Instead all we say is drugs are bad and you should never take drugs. Scaring lids into not taking drugs wont work but educating them will

That's a very good point. I think I can agree with that. What should be being taught to kids is that drugs need to be respected and that some of them are much more harmful than others. We need to be educated, responsible, moral, as well as respectful humans...not fearing things and being naive idiots who know nothing about the things that we fear. We simply mindlessly follow along with things that are told to us without looking things up. I've found more good in my research (almost all of it not experiential, but all just internet research) than bad. I've found very little bad in proper drug use. If we had a respect for drugs in this culture, we would not have such a huge problem. But we would always have problems.
