Red wedding dress?

United States

Just heard about a bride on the Bridezillas show that wore a red wedding dress. Needless to say, she didn't get the best reaction from guests at her wedding. She didn't seem to mind, though. That takes guts! Would you ever wear a red wedding dress at your wedding? Do you think it's proper?

wedding day is the day of the bride... if i was the bride i will wear whatever i feel like wearing. any color i choose... its my party and ill wear what i want too. i think wearing a white dress is traditional but sometimes dressing different would matter as long as the husband do agrees also.

I say whatever the bride feels beautiful in and wants to wear, go for it! Personally, I had always dreamed of wearing that white dress and enjoyed finding the perfect wedding gown. I know there are people out there that march to the beat of their own drummer and if they prefer to wear something different like that, they should go for it and the guests should know that their friend, family member has that type of personality and support her in her choice. After all it is her and the groom's day!

I am from China. And red is a traditional and lucky color for wedding. In the old days, all brides wore in red. Now it's a little bit different. The brides will wear western wedding white gown. And in the middle of the feast, the brides will change a traditional Chinese wedding red dress. And finally, the brides will wear a party gown. It is still happy for a woman to wear different beautiful gowns in her wedding:)

Any color is fine for a wedding dress. I never wear red in every day life, it is not my color. Some people look terrific in red (the woman in red). People should enjoy their wedding any way they like. There will always be people who gossip. Remember the woodstock era when couples got married in jeans and barefoot? Anything goes.

I wore a traditional white wedding dress, and I have saved it for my daughter to wear if she wishes. I heard that pale colors are in style now for brides dresses. Like ivory, pale blue, pale pink, ect. It's up to the bride. The only color I think would bother me if my daughter wanted to wear is black.
