Can I take a picture?

I was lying on the bed, arm on the stand, fingers lightly squeezing the little red heart. From the elbow, blood flow from a little hose from a vein to a pack hanging under the stand. The nurse was exerting a little pressure near my wrist, alternating between removing the little piece of what appear like bandage to me and peeping at the needle. I was looking at the unfilled pack of blood, eyes following her every movement. A cameraman came along. "Can I take a picture?"
I smiled and shake my head. He looked at me in surprise. I just shrugged my shoulders.
I surveyed the room around me. There were many beds. Only three were occupied. I seem to be the only odd one out, in terms of gender, attire and hand on the stand. Yes, I was doing a noble deed - donating blood. So were the other two. The other two
were rather relaxed. I was apprehensive. I am a regular donor, and it was the first time, the nurse did not give me the confidence that everything was all right. I dare not even close my eyes for a moment, though I very much wanted to take a little nap. Is that the reason I was spotted for a shot? I know not.
Blood donation is a noble act, one should be proud to have a picture taken. Friends, if it were you, will you agree to have a picture taken?

You are confusing me. One min you say you are a regular donor, the other you say it is your first time. Or do you mean to that it is the first time the nurse did not kiss you on the lip and tell you "my charming, everything will be alright"?
Indeed it is a noble act but I would have rejected that guy if I was in your place. Why would I want to have my photo taken, stored in some stockphoto gallery, and be used again and again, appearing everywhere on papers without me being paid a cent?
But it is the not money issue here. I would want my photo to be taken even if they pay me.
And what little red heart were you squeezing?

The first time I felt pain when she poked the needle and the need to man the needle makes me lost confidence. It would be nice if she can kiss and hug me to assure me everything is all right. But, no, she tell me I will get pain the next day.
The little red heart is similar to a stress ball, just to do some exercise to make the blood flow. I snapped a picture of it but somehow fail to get it downloaded.
The picture if taken, I believe will appear in the town council's newsletter, but I already so famous, no need the additional publicity. lol.

I think, for me, it would depend on whether I felt relaxed or not. I think I would probably do the same and tell the photographer no. I'm not a big fan of being in front of the camera anyway, so that would be a big influence on my decision as well. But, there's always the chance that I'll be in one of my "whatever" moods, and tell the photographer to do whatever he wants and get it over with. LOL
