Air conditioning..... |
|
Do you have air conditioning in your home? What temperature do you usually have it set on? We use to have window units in our house, but 2 summers ago we had Central Air installed. We usually have it set at 74 degrees. But I'm one of those people who always have cold feet. So I'm usually walking around the house with no shoes on but socks on my feet.

11. Flight84 (1974) | 3 years ago | My husband is extremely hot natured, so out air conditioner is usually set on 67, give or take a degree or two. I used to be cold natured, but my body has adapted to his temperature preferences over the years.:)

12. wellamoose (1144) | 3 years ago | We have a window unit in our family room where all the computers are. We have central air through the rest of the house. I wish we could put a window unit in our bedroom because it gets so hot in there, but the opening is too small even for the smallest unit.=( We usually keep the central air set at 77* during the day and then it drops down to 73* at 9PM so we can sleep better. We had our first 100* weather last week. I hate the heat in this valley, but I have to go where I have work. So, we're pretty much stuck right now. I used to be cold all the time when I was skinny, but now that I'm fat, I'm hot all the time. I would much rather be cold!

13. melanie652 (1561) | 3 years ago | We have central air in our home. I usually leave it at 82 during the day and turn it down to 81 at night. Very uncomfortable to wake up in the middle of the night and be too hot! We're in and out alot so it's tough to come inside to a very cool house from being outside in mid to upper 90 degree temps.

14. KrisNY (7347) | 3 years ago | We have a/c in our bedrooms only- The a/c really bothers me and wakes up allergies in me- I usually wake up with a splitting headache- so most of the time we just close down the house during the days- and at night open it back up and let the cool breeze in- Keeps it pretty cool-

15. ORyansBelt2012 (2113) | 3 years ago | I have two units...a central A/C downstairs and another central unit upstairs. My electric bill runs about $100 a month in summer. The upstairs gets warm, but I'm never up there unless it's time for bed, so I stay downstairs which stays pretty cool. There are some schools of thought that say it's cheaper to maintain a 72 degree temperature than to turn the A/C off until you get home and then try to cool your house. I'm in the South. You can't live without A/C here. Growing up I didn't have an A/C of any kind in my home until I was 14.

16. kgwat70 (10106) | 3 years ago | Yes, I do have air conditioning in my home. I would not know what to do without it during the hot summer months. I have not turned it on in a while as it has been cool and hot off and on. I may have to turn it on soon. I usually keep it around 75 as that is a good temperature to set it as well as keeping your electric bill down. Lower than 70 will really run up your bill.

18. scarywhitegirl (2476) | 3 years ago | We moved to Seattle recently, and it's very rare here for apartments and homes to have air conditioning. So far, though, there have only been a few days where it has been really warm, and even then, it never got above 80. It always cools off of the evening, and most public buildings do have air conditioning, so we have some relief on the really hot days.
Today, I'm wearing jeans and a long sleeved shirt inside, and will put a jacket on when I go outside. It's much cooler here in the summer than what I'm used to!
