I live in Manitoba and have the sim card for the area we are in. We plan to visit Alaska and then Vancouver, B.C. before returning home. Considering we will not be in long enough to buy a sim card for Vancouver, and will be using the sim card for the city in Manitoba we live in, will I have to dial long distance while I am in Vancouver to phone someone in Vancouver? I will be getting a phone card for long distance calls.

You should ask your sim card provider if it is available for roaming so you can use your sim card to call in Vancouver. Sorry, I am not familiar with your area that much. But the best thing that you can do is to ask your communication provider regarding your problem and I am sure you can have your answer with smile.

He told me it is available for roaming. I was just wondering whether I would have to dial number as a whole long distance number or whether I can just dail 555-5555 or something like that, to give an example.
