Wow, my parents don't have AC  

Wow, 4cuteboys, that is pretty rough. I don't know if I could handle that, especially when sleeping at night. In what state do you parents live?

We have central HVAC.

I know what you mean! When I moved from my home state to this state, the home I left did not have AC. However, it was up in the mountains and was very cool, even on the hottest of days. The home I moved to has central air. When I would go back to my home state to visit my parents, they did not have AC and I would feel so very hot! Funny how quickly we get used to AC. Not long after I moved to this state, they followed (yes, I am an only child!) and the home they bought has AC, but they won't use it! I burn up when I go to visit them!

I have central AC, which is an absolute must in Texas. I wish my husband would agree to letting us keep it at 72. We stay at 76-78. When I was pregnant I put my foot down and said he had no say in the matter. It stayed in the 60s then.

Sorry about your lack of AC. Keep yourself hydrated with lots of cool drinks, and keep the blinds closed (so that the sun doesn't get into the room and warm everything even more). I know I wouldn't able to live without AC... it reaches up to 90 degrees here, and with the pollution and smog, it's too humid to breathe.

My apartment has two ACs, one in my bedroom and one in the living room. They're both installed through the windows, so that'd make them 'wall AC units,' right? To be honest, I didn't know what central AC referred to (never seen it in my life); I had to google image it >_>; I feel so ignorant.

I have central air, but its set at 76, I don't need it too cool. Believe it or not, we have a window unit in our garage for our dog! He's a giant and its not too safe to have him around our girl, not that he's ever done anything, its just his size. But when its summer time and she's running around the house, he's in the garage on his special bed. He lives like a king in there! Of course, we live in the South, but he is only truly happy in the winter time! LOL

No, I do not have air conditioning. I live in central Europe and very few people have air conditioning here. Most people do not have ceiling fans etc. We open the windows. I find the summer quite bearable, I enjoy it. The weather is just nice warm and sunny.
I just wondered what Americans would do if they were in the Sahara? They are spoiled in America.

OMG! I could not live without my wall AC units epsecially in the summer time in Jersey...today was sooo hot I didnt even want to step foot out of my house, I heard this whole week is gonna be very hot Uggghhh!
I cant stand to be in a hot house just sweating my a** off LOL! I feel like I need to shower many times a day just to feel clean.
Its hard when your used to being comfortable then you go to someones house and they dont have any AC in the house..its like WHOA...I wanna go back home to my nice cool house its funny though because it doesnt bother the people who arent use to AC but to us its a killer.

We have two window unit AC's here. We have one upstairs in the computer room, and one downstairs in the kitchen. They keep our house pretty cool for the most part. Sometimes it gets warm in the baby's room, since we have to keep it closed when he's asleep, or he won't sleep.

Since the old houses on base don't have central AC, there are a lot of people here that don't have it. I don't know how they can stand it. One of the first things we bought after I got up here was a AC! We run at least one of ours almost all the time during the summer, and we live in North Dakota, where it doesn't really get all that especially hot.

I do not have air conditioning either. It can get pretty hot during the middle of the summer, but it can be a bit expensive. I have not gotten any prices on air conditioners, but ugh - people who do use an air conditioner in one room end up paying heavily for it when they get their electric bill.

I have central air conditioning, but when I would visit my father's mother on occasion, I would just about die. Oklahoma summers are brutal and although she had a window unit in her living room, she would only turn it on from noon to 2pm before shutting it off. I used to live under the one ceiling fan during our stays. She did just fine! : )
