I walked out on still hot lava on the big island on my first trip to Hawaii.

Has anyone else walked on hot lava there? The lava had flowed across the road not long before and there were signs to stay off, but some people were trying it. I walked out until I was getting fairly high above the level of the road and my feet were getting hot through my tennis shoes. I decided not to risk burned feet or falling through into any molten lava that might be below and retuned the way I had come.
