It's that time of year again, unless your like I am, then it's always that time of year. It's time ot start grooming your scouting reports and making your cheat sheets for fantast football. I'd like to discuss a few subjects of interest to me over the next couple of weeks so let's begin.
If I had to make a list of the Quarterbacks that can impact a fantasy team I'd have to start it with Peyton Manning. Year in year out he is Mr. Consistency. Looking at his numbers for over a decade makes him about the surest bet to be in the top 3 at his position. With a killer duo of wide recievers in Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison he's pretty much guaranteed to throw for close to 30 touchdowns.
I've debated some on number 2 but decided to go with Tom Brady, if for no other reason then the addition of Randy moss. Brady always find a way towards the top of the fantasty hill and having a reciever capable of catching 15 touchdowns in a season only helps his cause. Add on to that the fact that the Pats are solid on both sides of the ball and you can bet that Brady and Moss will get their fair share of opportunintes.
Most people would select Carson Palmer as number three. I disagree. Looking at last years games against the Steelers I seen some things in Palmer that make me believe he is more apt to take a backwards turn. Add into that the idea that the Bengals as a team don't look to be improving personell wise and I think you have a set up for a disappointing season.
My number three is Drew Brees. In year two of Sean Payton's offensive system along with a pair of young stars to throw to in Reggie Bush and Marques Colston, I think that Brees can throw for 25 to 30 touchdowns this season. With a defense thats going to allow points and an offens that can score, it's a perfect combination for an all over the lot style of passer like Brees to gain a ton of yards from scrimmage and find the end zone often.

You break it down nicely. However, my top 5 would be as follows.

1.Payton Manning
2.Carson Palmer
3.Tom Brady
4.Drew Brees
5.Matt Hasselbeck

Philip Rivers, and Mark Bulger should also get considerations for breaking the top 5, and maybe McNabb, Romo, and Vince Young should round out the top ten.

I think one sleeper would be Detroit's Kitna.
I think a bust will be Arizona's Matt Leinert. A new system not designed for WR's.

I can see where your going with that. But I think Kitna has a bigger chance to fall flat than Leinart does. A poor offensive line and an unproven ground coupled with a defense that can't stop the run equals tough times for Jonny boy. If your looking for a deep sleeper check out Trent Green or Tarvarius Jackson. Green will have Chambers and Booker to throw play action to thanks to a good ground and a stout defense. Jackson has raw skills and might hit the scene like lightning, or just spark and fizzle.
