Israel and the Future

We are now coming up on the first anniversary of the war between Israel and the Hezbollah in Lebanon. This war was short of a disaster for Israel. Israel's ground troops were being led by an air force officer which to me, an army veteran, makes absolutely no sense. Israel and the United States both are very trusting countries. However, they both know as well that they have to do what is necessary to protect its people. Now, this summer already, the Palestinian factions of the Fatah and the Hamas have fought attempting to gain control of the West Bank and other areas of the Palestinian territories. It appeared as if the Hamas was going to defeat the Fatah, but the Palestinian Prime Minister disbanded the government and excluded the Hamas from the new provisional government. To me, none of this matters. Israel, is always going to have to defend itself from its Arab neighbors who are always threatening its survival. God will not allow the birthplace of His Son Jesus Christ to be destroyed. I truly believe that Israel is the home of humanity. It is a beautiful country where all religions should have a right to thrive.

As the saying goes, "Can't we all just get along?" And finally, I really loved it when the former and late President Ronald Reagan said, "Wouldn't it be fitting that if an alien race should attack this world and we would all have to pull together to fight for the survival of humanity?"
