| 1. lainybabig2003 (56) | 1 year ago |  DMX is definitely a great rapper, but i wouldnt say hes the greatest rapper since 2pac. to say someone is the greatest rapper since 2pac, you have to go by who the public listens to the most and record sales. i would have to say this would probably be either 50 cent, jay-z, or juelz santana. all 3 are very popular and have had great record sales since 2pac passed away. in my opinion though, no one can relpace 2pac. i would say 2pac is the greatest rapper of all time, and no one could replace him. thats my opinion though, and i do love DMX. my favorite songs by him are "whats my name" and "ruff ryders anthem".

DMX is my favorite rapper. The way he puts down his verses like no one else.. has his own unique grimy style. Same thing with Pac. When Pac came out everyone wanted to rap like Pac.
DMX when he came out spawned a new following... everyone who was coming out wanted to be grimey and rap grimey and gritty. The only other persons I see have that type of influence is JayZ as everyone in NY who is coming out somehow has that JayZ type bitten flow... and Nas. The Nas wannabes are usually underground because they don't have what Nas has to break out into mainstream.
Sure there are other rappers with their own unique style and influence but DMX has definitely made an impact on the world. If I could show you all around my way, you would see grafitti of 2Pac and almost every block has graffiti of DMX... just the name sprayed on the wall... and I don't even live in the States. Of course, I see 50 cent all the time now but thats just because he's a commercial success.
I've never seen graph of Juelz Santana. Not saying he aint good.. he's just not as good a DMX.

| myrith (1046) | 9 months ago |  I'm in almost total agreement with you on this,I think DMX was great but I rate Jay-Z more, especially now in 2008 and he is still going strong, there will never be anyone that could measure up to Pac at least not in this lifetime, but there are still some decent rappers out there.

So the Next best hardcore rappa is DMX who can touch him when it comes to getting grimmy. Now if you want to look at the BIG picture he is #3 on the list of bect MC's. | 6. LadyT1208 (97) | 9 months ago |  Oh wow, I didn't think anyone else felt the same way about DMX..lol! I'm old school, but when it came to hardcore rap, 2PAC was my fav, and then there was X! I absolutely love him, and since I watched the show about where he grew up, and when he went back to do a show for the kids there, that sealed it even more. My friends (and kids) tease me about liking DMX, but what do they know but Fiddy and Hov..lol? Give Me A Sign plays when you come to my MySpace page..not hardcore, but a great and true message that I can identify with. And on top of that..he's sexy..(hey, I'm a girl..lol)! He's been having some trouble, but he'll get it together I hope! I'm waiting for the next one to drop!
