AT&T quietly introduces $10 DSL plan |
Without any fanfare, AT&T Inc. has started offering a broadband Internet service for $10 a month, cheaper than any advertised plan. The plan, which is required by the FCC to be offered for 2.5 years, will offer speeds of 128kb/s upload & 768kb/s download. The FCC is also requiring AT&T to offer DSL by the end of the year that requires no local phone service. http://www.statesman.com/...

1. kareng (3009) | 1 year ago | Wow, that sounds like an awesome deal! I'll have to check it out here locally. I just hate the thought of possibly switching again in 2.5 years. I like to stay with the same company. We will see! Thanks for the information!

4. razcal2267 (7547) | 1 year ago | While that is great news for some I would never take advantage of it. I have had so many issues with AT&T that even if they offered me cold hard cash to use their service I would turn them down.

5. Idlewild (4470) | 1 year ago | That's a great deal (though you have to do some digging to find it). It's a lot cheaper than what I'm paying now, and it's less than what Verizon charges in my area for their best DSL deal. I'll have to see if AT&T DSL is available in my area, thanks for posting this.

polachicago (6145) | 1 year ago | I guess soon DSL will not cost much....you can pay for DSL from money made on mylot...:)
| |
Idlewild (4470) | 1 year ago | Not for me... I've only reached the $10 minimum Mylot payout once in the last 4 months!

polachicago (6145) | 1 year ago | How come? with that many posts?
| |
Idlewild (4470) | 1 year ago | Haven't been on Mylot all that much the last few months... partly because I have a new job, and partly because after a few months on Mylot all the discussions started looking like ones I'd already responded to. And it seems to take longer to earn the same amount of money here... I used to spend hours here, and even then it didn't really seem worth it to earn $10! Starting discussions never really worked well for me; I rarely got more than a half dozen responses. So I spend less time here and try to be more selective about what discussions I respond to.

8. Transdisc (14017) | 1 year ago | Thank you for posting this information, polachicago.:) I intend to check it out, even though I am not hopeful as my phone company is the smallest in the state and they are very restrictive in offering/ allowing us ways to save money through other service providers. Still, it will be worth a look.:D

9. mihimolly (4890) | 1 year ago | I wonder if they keep it quiet because they don't want existing customers to get a better deal? We have a utility company for our gas and electric who would give discounts if you just rang up and asked to change to a discounted tarrif but it was not advertised anywhere.
