Who here homeschools their kids? What curriculum do you use? Do you school during the "normal" school year or do you school all year long? Do you have access to a Co-Op?

We use Alpha Omega Weaver, its a Unit Study. We are not workbook type of people. More hands on learning for us. We homeschool Sept-May. I teach in our Co-Op for 20 little ones.

Hi! It's good to see another home-schooler. It's a great way to have our children learning! I have found that I can't stick with one curriculm. I pick and choose for different subjects. Alpha Omega is good. I do like to keep my son using the workbooks as much as possible. He needs quite a bit of structure. I have always quit homeschooling for summer before, but this year he is continuing to read for the summer. His reading needs some improvement. We have been in co-ops but recently found a tutorial that we are enjoying. He takes classes with other homeschooled kids, but I don't have to teach. It helps to free me up to plan his lessons, instead of the co-op lessons. His cousins are homeschooled too, and they attend the same place. Good luck to you and....hand in there. Agape.

I don't homeschool during the summer as a rule either but my daughter keeps begging me for lessons. Sounds funny but her little mind is a sponge and she always wants to learn. Good luck to you too. Oh and the Co-Op here only meets every other Friday, so its more of enrichment and not really hard core schooling. There really are no lesson plans that the parents have to follow. The main idea is that kids can take Karate, Art, Yoga, or other things that their parents don't cover. We do field trips together and have a moms night out. Also, in the summer we meet up twice a month to help the kids keep up their friendships and give them something new to do.
