Yard sales, garage sales, tag sales..

I love yard sales. I have about 3 a year, so yes I have had one this year already. But that was at the very beginning of the year. So I am due to have one here very soon. As far as going to yard sales that has been awhile. I pass by them all the time. But most of the time I am on my way somewhere and never have a chance to stop.

Garage sale or house clearance, to be honest we don't haev many here although we do have car boot sales where people sell things they o longer want, they usually happen on a big field or school playground. As they say one mans junk s another mans treasure. I live in the uk.

We usually start the yard/garage sale blitz in May and in June it is going full swing. I went to one a few weeks ago, but even though the stuff was good, I didn't buy anything. Most of the time it is things I cannot use. There is usually a lot of baby stuff to buy, but my granddaughter is still too small and besides my son and daughter-in-law's place is not that big and neither is ours. I did find some trivets at one once and some cd holders, and a recipe cd once. What you can get from ours are lots of books, Romantic novels, cds, old records, furniture, ornaments and such.

We usually call them yard sales, in our part of the world. Although I haven't had one this year, I have joined with a friend a couple of years ago for two of them. I did the best at the first one, although I did manage to sell a Robert Bateman print at the 2nd one, for a good amount. We still use a 'sandwich toaster' that I bought at one for $2.00 a number of years ago.
