June Bugs or Japanese Beetles are invading our gutters!

Hopefully someone has some knowledge on either June Bugs or Japapnese Beetles.
Last night we saw tons of something flying around the top corner of our house. There were tons of them! The were going into our gutters and it sounded like they were going all the way down them. Then we went out back, and the same thing was going on by the gutters on the back of the house.
I think that they are Japanese Beetles, my husband says they are June Bugs. First we thought they were bees but then my husband caught one so we know they aren't bees.
Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of these creatures and if they can cause any harm to our home?

I'm not sure if they still make them, but my grandmother had these bags that hung on a post. It has something in them that attracted the japanese beetles, and once they went in the bag they couldn't get out. I would check walmart or someplace like that for them. I'm pretty sure I still see them. I'm not sure if the beetles could do damage to your house. I've never heard of them doing damage, but you never know.

Thank you for this advice. I use to see those bags in peoples yards, I guess it is time to join them and purchase some of those lovely bags.
