Why Indiana Jones' Personal Finances Are Better Than Han Solo's  email this discussion to a friend?

Indiana Jones and Han Solo have entertained the world for years, but how have they fared financially?

Fortunately, both of them have been wise enough to play the stock market.

But who has profited more?

Indiana Jones may be better off financially, but are you considering just cash or assets as well? Indy never gets to keep the relics he finds, so he is only operating on his salary from the University and occasional rewards for his finds. For the most part, however, he follows relics for the good of mankind or just because its "right."

Han Solo, on the other hand...do we really know how much a "credit" is worth on earth? Also, it seems that Han is not only interested in cash rewards, but is interested in wagers that involve assets. Even though its value may not be measured on earth, the Millenium Falcon is a major asset. Like a house, he could have that as his "savings account." (We don't know if Indy rents or owns or is merely put up by the university). Because of his ties with rebel forces and how the Falcon was used to help save the day, on the open market now that the Empire was destroyed and regular commerce can resume, someone may pay an exorbitant amount of money for the sentimental value. Just like someone buying a car on earth that was historical.

Also, there are many studies about how men live longer if they are married or in a monogamous relationship. It seems that Han is a one woman man, even though at the end of the series, it is only suggested that he and the Princess end up together. It seems only natural. Indy, on the other hand has a different woman in every film. It may not seem important financially, but he will be around longer to enjoy his investments.

So, I see Indy, when he is 80 will have enough money to live on from being careful and I see Han as one of those lucky guys who lives VERY well in his old age. (And hey, besides if he stayed with the Princess, he would have married rich!)
