what makes summer, summer for you?
every year we go away for a weekend with a church group, we go to the beach a dozen times, we play frisbee (does ANYONE play frisbee anymore??)we blow lots of bubbles (we have this huge bubble wand that we bought last year that blows the coolest bubbles!!), we have picnics, we have lots of lemonade, we see fireworks, we have at least one campfire and roast marshmallows, we go canoeing...
what makes summer summer for you? do you go visit a cottage (lucky ducks!!) what else do you do?

You have described summer exactly! My summer starts off with no diapers! By this I mean that I run a home daycare and in the summer I do not have any babies~ so yeah, no diapers! I have kids that are 4 and older so it is so much fun. We swim, swing, play 4 square, kickball. We eat lots of popsicles, blow lots of bubbles. My teens have parties around the campfire and set off fireworks. We go to the beach whenever possible and picnic lunches. We also have family reunions over the summer:)

The staples of summer for me are: the saltiness of the beach, hot sweaty nights, cool clothes, ice cream and a laid back attitude.

Getting to eat watermelon that is perfection is one of my favorite things to do. I don't do it often, but I wish I could. Also, the baseball season really reminds me of summer. And my least favorite reminder of summer, is when it is close to being over and it is almost time for colleges here to go back in session.
