| | | | | | 1.  crispeater (1276) | 1 year ago |  I think I'd have to say the album American Beauty. There's a lot of really amazing songs on it. Ripple is a great song with some amazing mandolin. The song Box Of Rain is really beautiful too. Phil Lesh co-wrote it (with Robert Hunter) when his father was dying of cancer. Actually there's not a song on the album I don't like.
The album also has a cool cover. If you look at the title a certain way it says "American Reality".

| | | 3. mylittletribe (6) | 1 year ago |  I don't have a favorite studio album, I far prefer live shows. Even my favorite release from their label is a live show (Live Dead). I own quite a few, but they are rarely listened to.. instead I always reach for the live stuff (at one point I had over 1000 hours of bootleg tapes, but with the evolution of cds, I gave away my tapes and started trading/collecting cds instead)
