When I was in my elementary schooling, I was exposed to competition. I need to compete to get the highest honor, i need to compete to win a quiz bee contest, I need to compete to get the leadership award...This kind of atmosphere taught me that I need to compete, compete and compete. Little did i realize that academic competition led me to compete even in attention, relationships and other non-academic achievements...But I do thank the Lord for healing me from this dirty self image..that I can stay beautiful in His sight just the way I am (I mean, he accepts me as I am, including my failures, my sins and all). His tender forgiveness, mercies and grace led me to the understanding and realization that success in life is not based on what I do, but on the things that I do for His glory. I always remember that "Only one life will soon to pass and only what is done for Christ will lasts."Did you ever had this tendencies? Do you have children exposed to such environment? How could this be avoided? Please share you your thoughts and opinions
