I've battled with low self-esteem all my life, and it's ongoing. My spiritual convictions have helped tremendously, as I've never really have been to see a therapist or a psychiatrist. I had a brief encounter with them, but all they did was prescribe some antidepressant for me which really didn't help at all. I've also realized to a point, that my low self-esteem is illusionary, it comes from my childhood, and I guess the way I was raised contributed to it quite a bit. I've depended upon myself most the time to drag myself out of that situation, as little by little I've come to realize how unattractive it is, as well as how it brings everyone down around me, of how it makes me feel sorry for myself. I've also come to realize that I actually have a choice to suffer from low self-esteem, or not suffer from it. It's all that simple. All of us, each and every one of us, are filled with love and strength and beauty and humility and intelligence...we just forget that, allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by our environment or parents or whatever. Low self-esteem is an illusion, it's not real, and it's not who you are. Go inside yourself and beat it down with a 2 by 4 (envision it as a monster or something). Learn to meditate, get in touch with your true spiritual identity, open up your heart and tap into your true nature. Make the choice, and you're life will change.
