Which are the best things you bought for your new baby?

My baby son was born last month. Since then I have bought many things for him, some better than others. I think the best thing I got for him was the moses basket that is easy to carry around my house and the wooden cot that is in my bedroom that he goes in at night. I worst thing I bought was a car seat that is meant to suit babies up to 9 months that will soon be too small for him. It is difficult to fix into a car and it is very heavy to carry. What have been the best and the worst things that you have bought for your baby? Why?

We bought our daughter heaps of useful things but the 1 thing that was given to her that ended up being pointless was a walker! My partner's parents got her a walker - a little pink jeep but she never used it! She'd sit in it & press the buttons or push herself backwards once in a while but that was it, she learnt to walk without it & never used it! Those car seats were a waste of money for us - we ended up buy a convertable car seat they face backwards from birth to 9kg & then they face forwards from 8kg to 18kg - definitely an excellent buy! We also got her a cot which she uses now but it makes me wonder whether the bassinet we bought needed to be bought at all coz she only used it for such a short amount of time.

Yes, it is a shame that the walker turned out to be useless. car seats can be quite expensive so the convertible one certainly sounded an excellent buy. Many thanks for your excellent response.

i also had a moses basket. and it fit comfortably next to my side of the bed. the worst thing i had was those dreadful bottle nipples that didnt have sucktion valves. she was a thirsty one and got very irritated when she could continue sucking as it collapsed. but the absolute best thing was expensive orthodontic dummies. it helped with the teething and helped a lot with the crying.
