Shut the door

I am having an annoying afternoon. I work in the bedroom and there can be a huge draft if the door is let open. My partner is working outside on the car and he is leaving both doors, the main door and my door open and it is like a wind tunnel in here. Now I have been interrupted by infuriatingly nosy neighbour whose eyes have done a one hundred mile an hour inventory of everything I have in this room. She just walked in because my back is to the door and I couldn't intercept her as i usually do. but she COULD have been a mad axe murderer! How do I enforce my "please close the door" request!

I can't turn things around as I am in a corner and it is very convenient in that nothing can fall off the desk so I don't spend half the time on the floor looking for things lol. She does scare me full stop as she has become very creepy just lately and asking lots of questions as if she fancies herself as a private detective. Things are always very interesting to her, where people have gone, when are they coming back, why have they gone there, who were my visitors etc etc etc Thank heavens she thinks the internet is a waste of time. She would find out everything here on mylot!

Well, time has passed, he is still leaving doors open and she is still being nosy. When we get the new house I hope we have a private garden and high fences!

By shouting every time he comes in or out Shut the Bl**dy door That is the most annoying thing As for your Neighbor would you please make it plain to her that it is manners to knock before Entering and that the Bedroom is a no go She is being very rude as I know this is not the first time she has done this Make a plain to her Knock before you come in

Oh come on, you know how much notice anyone takes of me in this place! I would put one of those auto closer things onto the door but as you know there is one on the main hall door and the darned thing catches my heel in the door nearly every time so I think that is probably a no no. As to Little Miss Nosey what annoys me is that if she is invited in she always declines but if she thinks there is nobody around she will come in and prowl around. Makes me nervous about going into the garden without locking the door but then it makes the place like Fort Knox and not a bit like home at all.

Wave an axe at them, that should give them a clue... Put one of your cute signs up get one of those door springy things put a bolt on the inside copy my kids and tie the door handle to something that doesn't move easily like the bed. Bong has a new invention, he's tied the bathroom light cord to the towel rail so that when you open the door the light comes on, he hasn't worked out how to switch it off yet, but saves time for him if he ever visited the loo at night, lol.

Tempting as the axe idea is I am so accident prone i would probably end up chopping my own head off lol. I like Bong's invention, how do you avoid strangling yourself as you walk through the door though? It is very tempting to put something behind the door, I must admit but you know how much more interesting that makes whatever is going on behind the door and I would have to be constantly opening and shutting the door as Other Half would have millions of queries and I can't hear through the door! I have to admit that nosiness is driving me absolutely up the wall. All I am doing is gradually going through everything in the flat and putting it in the right place, typing at my keyboard, watching TV and getting meals for people. Surely none of that is illegal yet?

I am not likely to disappear, she is still doing it and driving me crazy. My partner is not here and we have a car. No car = no partner or no both of us. Down she flip flops - the sound of those darned things aggravates me too - "where is he? Why is he not here? When is he coming back?" How the heck do I know - he DOES have free will. If I could do the body by the door head in another room I would give it a try, although knowing my luck it would just make her even more inquisitive, sigh

Grab him by the hand and lead him to the door, show him how to close it. And then tell him the next time he leaves it open you are going to stomp him

Oh Sassy, I do love your approach to life and love. he is too quick to stomp - he can run like a whippet lol. I would like to clobber the neighbour though, nosy person that she is. She was apparently interrogating my partner tonight as to which cars are owned by members of our family and for how long they are going to be parked here. Ummm they are fully taxed and insured and parked quite legally, so what business is it of hers. I don't know which one to slap, her for being nosy or him for telling her!

Have something in your other hand ready to throw at him then and the neighbor too. The only nosey neighbor I have is a little 8 year old boy who seems to think that he lives here and his house is just for sleeping. Most of the time I don't mind he is quite helpful lol As for who to slap, both of them and then do it again for me hehe yep I'm onry to day!

That is definitely the most satisfying advice I have been given:-) She is still being nosy and has even taken to looking through the window! Tell me, what is so fascinating about a fat lady tapping away at a keyboard? For the life of me I don't see why she bothers!

Honey I don't know.I have a list of annoying things that I hate to have undone! I like to have the cap back on the toothpaste and it is once I put it there.I don't like wet towels left on the bath floor but they always are.I have a ling list. As for the nosey neighbor tell her point blank that unless you invite her in to stay out.She is most likely not the polite type or she wouldn't barge in like that so you must be rude also...When in Rome do as the Romans do!..I hate to say be rude but I think she won't get it otherwise. When you get your partner door trainer tell me how so I can fix the little issues I have! Hugs

I think we have no chance of fixing these little issues, sigh. My partner and his Dad do all that lot as well. The nosey neighbour is really getting on my nerves. Why is your cupboard open (because some people are busy and they are backwards and forwards to the cupboard) who owns all the cars I see your partner driving (whose business is that!)who cut the tree back (before it took someone's eye out!) What are you doing, why are you always in your bedroom? it goes on and on and to be honest she doesn't take any notice at all, which is why I tend to keep the doors firmly shut!
