it's pouring here right now..i feel like i should be out on the porch yelling "my crops are saved!" like a bad old movie LOL..oh wait..i'll need a big obnoxious straw hat..
i love that wet earth smell,and the cooling wind.
makes me just want to sleep on the porch all night.
anyone else feel like sleeping outside on nights like this?

Believe me I do know what you mean. We had no rain at all for over 2 months and now finally we are getting some. At least a little bit the last week or so and it's been wonderful. I hear a few thunder boomers right now so hoping we'll get more tonight.

Well we might get some later in the week, at least that is what the reports state. I hope so. It's so hot here and the rain helps cool everything down.

Pshaw. Live here, it's like Rain season. heck we couldn't even have a nice 4th of July because of all the rain. A lot of the fireworks shows were cancelled, delayed and shortened because one minute it would be clear and the next the sky would open up and pour down! then a few minutes later...clear!
It's been raining off and on for about two weeks here, frankly I'd like it to go away! So I hope you get more!

we're way behind on rain-the reservoir was getting mighty low there for awhile.

Not in florida I don't but when i was in jersey,I used to love the smell of the rain.I am really glad you finally got some. I am really irrritated.We had gotten rain 3 day sin a row and we finally thought we were in the rainly season where we live but we have gotten noce since..We keep seeing all this rain going everywhere else but here and now it's drying up again.

florida has gotten quite a bit of rain from the tropics but it keeps going to the east coast,inland and most other parts of the west coast. those in the town i live in are getting tired of watching it cloud up and thunder then do nothing.very frustrating

yea i've been watching the weather channel and the storm fronts seem to start in mid-america somewhere and go no lower than virginia.

I dont know about sleeping in the rain but as long as its not thundering or lightning I dont mind going for a walk in the rain. kissing in the rain is pretty passionate too.

Hello! I too like wet earth smell & cool wind during rainy season. But here the climate changes every minute. If its raining in the morning, it becomes really hot next minute. So, I can't think about sleeping outside...vani ^_^

that's the way it's been here lately-the late afternoon is an absolute steam bath.the humidity is horrible,inside or outside the house.

Awww - I'm pleased you're happy - though not sure I like the sound of this obnoxious straw hat! LOL! Of course here in England rain is not a big deal - if anyting we would prefer to sleep out on a dry night because it's such a novelty...... but I do know what you mean about the coolung smell. Everythung is suddenly fresh and clean looking once it rains. Enjoy yourself.

that's the thing-new england is usually rainy too..the last couple years,it's been weirdly dry
like our climate's changing.
it's a cool hat.trust me.
plus,it gives the furkids something to sniff when i come back in ;)

i love the rain! unfortunatly we havent seen anything measurable in a very long time now. and your right about the damp earth smell..makes everything smell clean.

Ohh how i envy you! i absolutely LOVE the rain. i love everythign about it. i love to sit and lets the drops fall on my skin. i love to listen to the drops fall on the earth. i love the smell when everything is wet and refreshed. i love the feel of the air. i love the look of the sky.
To me, the rain is incredibly beautiful and romantic. It symbolizes something so special to me and i can't get enough of it. i used to get to campus really early on rainy days so i could walk around in it. i would show up to class completely soaked and sometimes guys would offer me their jackets and whatnot. i would just smile and say no thank you (unless it was a friend) and explain that i love the rain. i didn't even care that it would mess up my hair and sometimes make my makeup run. To me, it is all beautufl.

We had a real humdinger of a downpour a few nights ago..now dry as a bone again and stifling hot...we're to get a real heat wave by Sunday...send some of your rain down our way---yes, love the rain and the fresh clean smell it gives to the air...I would love to sit out on the porch..uh, if I had one..LOL

you may get your wish-it's rumbling here again.
it's supposed to be sauna like over the weekend,
but i have a feeling it may be the overcast type of sauna.
