In Paradise, Bahamas, there is a shark tunnel at the Atlantis Resort. When they were starting to design this, the engineers who where chosen for the job asked my mother to work on the project with them. Unfortunately, she declined. I would have loved to have been an intimate bystander of this. Since it has been built, I have wanted to go inside the tunnel. It is so awesome just to look at. Here is a video that will allow you to take a walk on the wild side! Go ahead! Just do it!http://www.metacafe.com/watch/375114/atlantis_tunnel_bahamas_paradise_island/

Oh My Lord it is awesome! We here in SA have a big research center on sharks because of our warm waters and in the Cape province their coast line has had problems in the past with the Great White. But our aquarium comes way short with this one. Here in Durban there is a tourist attraction where you sit in the restaurant looking directly into a shark tank, here is the link, Ushaka Marine World, it is our best, and one of my favorite places to go when we go to Durban. It is also the biggest in Africa.

If you like wild life then take a look at this link , it is one of the places in my country that I am still extremely proud of! I have been in all of the camps. It is the only place in the world where you can see the Big Five roaming free The UK will fit twice in the Kruger National Park, it is huge! http://www.krugerpark.co.za/

That looks like so much fun. I love any thing with sharks and wild life. I talking to my husband the other night and the subject of South Africa came up. He said there is a lot to do in South Africa.

I have seen wild sharks a few times. It is just so amazing. I think they have made the shark tunnel at the Atlantis Resort to make excitement for the tourists. It is very scary to snorkel with sharks that have sharp teeth even if they are quite small. I snorkeled with them off the coat of French Polynesia. Wow! It really took my breath away. They were black tipped sharks. When I was in New Zealand I was viewing a lighthouse and afterwards I set off down to the beach. Just as I was walking across the sand I heard someone point to the sea and shout shark. Oh, my goodness! People ran out of the water very quickly. When I was in the Maldives on a beautiful palm fringed island I was walking around the edge of the island when I saw three baby sharks basking in the shallow water. It was an amazing experience. I snorkeled with some friendly nurse sharks in Belize. They were swimming around with some sting rays. They seemed to be gentle and it didn't feel at all scary to be with them.

You should do a web page on the details of your excursions. That would be so interesting. I would be thrilled to read about it.

Me, too. The closest I have come to it is an aquarium.
