Baby shower?

You can have it any time before the baby arrives. Normally, your family member and/or close friends will host the shower for you. It would be easier to just register yourself somewhere e.g. Babies R Us, Target, etc. and make a list of the things you would like to have. That way, you don't get duplicates and it's easier for people to shop.

Usually you do it about 2 months before the baby comes. Most womens mothers throw it for them, or sisters. You can go to walmart and toys r us and stores like that and do a registry. they give you a little scanner and you just scan all the things you would like to receive as gifts. then your guests just have to print out the list and pick the stuff they want to get you.

Congratulations for the baby to come, My wife had 3 baby showers that was great one of them was organized by family member and she made a list and give each item to a person invited. the others was at their own, so they give us the same items, two or tree times from the same socks hats, bottles etc. I recommend a gift registry in your favorite store or a person in the family that organize everything including the gifts. Of all the gifts we receive the more valuable ones are diapers. Good luck in all your pregnancy stages, and I hope you receive a lot of gifts.

Some will have them after the baby arrives, so the guests know whether to buy pink or blue! Although with ultrasound most people already know beforehand...

First.. congratulation! You can have a baby shower any time.. you might want to wait until you are in your third trimester though. Usually family and friends will be the one to host the shower.
I would suggest making a registry for people to buy off of, it will make your life easier (also, make sure you register for different size clothes, not just newborn). You can start a registry at many stores like Target, Walmart, Babies R Us or many high end shops as well. If you find that you like things from different places then I would go to www.thethingsiwant.com and start a registry there.. when you are online you can just add things to your registry from anywhere you like. That site is wonderful!

Here in Australia, Baby Showers aren't something we do - i guess it depends on where you are though!
My cousin had one though & as far as we could tell, it was only so she'd get gifts & then there would be stuff she wouldn't have to actually pay for herself^_^
If you do decide to have one, i guess let the gifts people give you be a surprise, i don't like the idea of registering at certain places coz most of the places that do it aren't exactly cheap. Meaning anyone who goes & gets something from your list is going to have to spend quite a bit of money.
Just let people give you what they want to give you, that way you know it's what they think you should have, not what you want them to give you:)
You'll have to buy quite a lot of stuff yourself anyway so if you do make a list - just pick general things that you know you'll go through, diapers/nappies, dummies/pacifiers, bottles, teets, steriliser, blankets & sheet sets, wipes, lotions, clothes & general stuff like that!

you can register, like you would for a wedding, target does it, babys r us does it. You can go in and scan things you want and then when someone buys it it gets taken off. It is a good way to tell people what you want and they can choose if they would like to buy those things. Usually people do them around 7 months. but really they can happen anytime. Whoever wants to do it can do it. I know for me one of my friends have always done it, whoever comes to me first and says they want to=)
