Now they're conspiring against me! (FREE TO GOOD HOME!) | | | | I have posted a discussion in the past about my cat Puffy and opening drawers (link below). Now the story has a new twist! Puffy, Lord Greything, has discovered the bread drawer. He has opened it several nights in a row. This morning, Larry, the dog in my avatar now, decided to take advantage of the situation. Puffy isn't tall enough to reach into the drawer and pull things out. Larry certainly is, and he did. Once our Basset Hound, Sophie, heard the commotion, she came running out and took Larry's purloined potato bread from him, so he reached back in and helped himself to some croissants, then some cookies, then some moldy hotdog rolls left over from the holiday. Guess who didn't get any breakfast this morning? I would love to beat all three of their butts, but it wouldn't do any good. Guess I need to go buy some babylocks for the bread drawer now! | | Hi gardengirl, I have to say I laughed and laughed at this! I certainly will go check out the other discussion! We have 1 dog & cat (Rosie & Kitty) stays in the house. As far as I know they are usually good. This morning our refrigerator door was slightly cracked open. Kitty can get regular doors open if they are not latched shut, so I kind of wondered about our frig... It's just me & my husband... both swearing we shut it :) Thanks for the story! :) | | | | | | | | | | Ask a Cat Vet Online Now 8 Veterinarians Are Online! Ask a Question, Get an Answer ASAP. I would love to have seen a video of this but I can see it all very clearly in my mind! You have a wonderful family there sweets and they must keep you really busy but maybe you should have got up a bit earlier and given them their breakfast and they might not have eaten yours! lol hugs xxx | | | | | | | | | | Basset Hounds Looking For Basset Hounds? | | At least your furbabies have the intelligence to grab something edible. Ours don't. Admittedly, we do tease the cats with envelopes and paper to get them active rather than just lying around. So the dogs get into the act, too. Hubby has a bad habit of not putting paper towels on the wooden paper towel holder I have. Guess who gets to clean up the blizzard of paper towel shreds on the floor of the living room when he gets home? ;-) No toilet paper roll is safe, either. I saw one of the mid-sized dogs last week dropping one so one of the cats could shred it just last week. Le Sigh..... | | | | | | | | | | Frontline Plus Flea&Tick for Dogs and Cats. Save Big! | | I know all about the conspiracy of the animals. Mine do the same thing. I have one that gets the object of desire and the rest I swear, cheer him on. He usually gets the item himself but he sometimes shares. The cats also are good at getting into trouble. They knock things over and then the dogs get them. I have already installed baby locks on my cupboards and I don't have a baby.lol. | | | | | | | | | | Great Basset Hounds -57% Basset Hounds at bargain prices: Compare offers and save up to 57%! www.news72.com/Basset-Hounds | add comment | | | |

| | I can relate to this, I have 3 little 4 legged monsters, as well as 2 wrapper stealing cats. The one dog is a notorious counter surfer, and will go up there, and knock things off, and the other 2 just reap the rewards. Sometimes I just want to knock their heads together, but, alas, I love them too much. | | | | | | | | | | Super cheap Basset Hounds Basset Hounds at Best-Price.com! | | The baad...baaaad basset...I love that! We have a basset, too-Georgie-who has this "bad dog" gene, that seems to well up and take over when she's been good for too long. Lately-she's discovered she CAN knock down the baby gate that separates the upstairs from the main floor. (Upstairs is the cats' sanctuary, where their food and main litter box is kept.)She started knocking it down while I was at work; I'd come home and all the cats' food is gone, there's litter all over the floor and on everything else she got into... Well, last week on my day off, she was being very good. Then I left for 30 minutes. Came back, the gate is down, etc..this time she also stole a bag of cat food, dragged it down the stairs, so now there're Purina nuggets all over the living room! (And of course, she's just sleeping innocently on the couch-just like when I left)- Hubby gets home-I break down-we go to Target for drawer/cabinet locks, a new gate that bolts to the wall, and a new locking food container to hide her food-put an end to finding bags of Moist-n-Meaty in the furniture!-Next day she's pulled the container out of the pantry and managed to unlock one of the handles anyway. Go figure! | | | | | | | | | | CATS: Buy, Sell, or Hold? Don't trade CATS until you get our trusted free weekly trading advice! www.TheBestNewsletters.com | add comment | | | |
