Why is it that US music are quite popular globally but not UK's?

How do you view this? Do you agree?
Any pop/rock/hip-hop band in the US are known world wide but we often missed out on many great bands of the UK. 'Queen' were no wonder Rock Gods and so was their popularity. But other than this and few other happening bands out there,can you name as much as you can?
I recently started to listen to their online radios to get their updates and i am just about glad, i got to know two great rock/alternative bands of the Queen's country.Arctic Monkeys and Biffy Clyro. They are absolutely rocking and their new records are worth every penny.
I'd spread the word about these bands to my friends circles and they reviewed them as 'rare pieces'.Is it our ignorance to their kind of music or is it their lack of awareness(ads)? The sound of the Scottish bag-piper could be very healing to your soul.Give them a try this time.

I think that part of the reason is just the many bands that come out of the US as compared to the UK. Sure Queen was a great band and I love Elton John's music. Also isn't James Blunt from or in the UK?
I have never heard of Arctic Monkeys or Biffy Clyro. Where can they be found online if anywhere? I would like to hear the type of music that you are referring to so that I could make my own judgement.

in my country brit pop is quite popular.. i really love arctic monkeys they are great.. i think because US band more to popularity but UK band more to just play the music not care much about popular. it like UK band just underground band.. but i am sure in couple of years UK Band will as high as US Band.. :)
