Please Help Is this a Virus or what?  | |  Hey everyone, this thing is on my computer and keeps telling me about lots of spyware on my computer and stuff. Anyway it is a program named "Rem Adm PSkill" says it is stored in Kill Wind.exe .............what is this? Thanks so much for the help.

| | | | | | | | 1.  budsr03 (1521) | 1 year ago |  I trust in a program called Ad-Aware, it will scan your computer and reveal what is spyware and you have the option to delete what you don't trust to be on your computer. I think what you have there is spyware and not a virus, but please do some searching about it to be certain.

I trust that you use a HP/Compaq computer? The program (killwind.exe) is a program that sends error/crash data when your PC breaks to HP/Compaq so that they can help you.
You can remove it but if you want to let HP help you remotely when your PC breaks, you can leave it alone. Be sure to program your anti-vius to 'trust' this prgram to prevent it from accidentally being deleted.

| | 3.  Sacrificialclam (4496) | 1 year ago |  I asgree with the other poster. AdAware or Spyware Blaster are two great programs. It sounds like you may have a virus or some spyware on your computer. Did you download any toolbars, music MP3s, new screen savers or icons? If so, there was probably some spyware. You can clean it yourself with programs bought from a computer store, but if worse comes to worse, you can always format your hard drive.
