 Really liked it and I really wished if I could see the actual 4hrs+ print that was trimmed to 2hrs+. Also as usual some facts were again changed like the Cho Chang being the person to leak about Dumbledore's Army. But the best part of the movie was Luna Lovegood. She's an amazing actor and the way things are going I am sure Harry and Luna can also be the couple in the last book.

1.  TeresaK (8093) | 1 year ago |  This movie was probably the most poorly done of all of them so far. I truly had high hopes for it, and was very disappointed. The whole thing was very choppy, jumping from scene to scene with little or no transition. Far too much of the book's plot was left out...and then things were added that were never part of the book! There was no Dobby, no Quidditch, no mention of the rift between Percy and his family, no real mention of the fact Fred and George were leaving school for good, etc. And the battle in the Ministry, which should have been the BIGGEST scene of all? It made Dumbledore's Army look inept and silly, as though they would have been dead if not rescued by the Order. And Sirius's death was like a comedic parody of the real thing.....I wanted to SCREAM when I saw that!!!
I did enjoy the actress they chose for Luna...she did a great job with the role. However, I still believe that Harry and Ginny should be together. I like Luna and Neville as a couple!!!

 smtopgun (141) | 1 year ago | Well as I said Director had earlier made a 4hr+ movie which the production company got chopped for obvious reasons. So I too felt that a lot of chopping was done. And yes I dont remember any quidditch in the 5th book as harry's broom was confiscated by the umbridge. Also till now 5th book was the least interesting and obvious I didnt had any high hopes for the movie too but still they really made me shiver in quite a few scenes. I also like Harry and Ginny together but there was a scene in which Luna assures Harry by shaking her hand which makes me think that they could surely be a couple in the 7th book.
Just few more days and we'll surely come to know... | |

I hope that when the DVD is released, we have the option of buying the directors cut, which will contain the full four hours....I'll bet THAT is one heck of a film!!

Of course there was Quidditch in the book....Ron was the new Keeper, and there was a fight with Malfoy (hated missing the chance to see him get pounded!!!), which led to Fred and George getting banned from Quidditch for life and was a big part of their attitude toward Umbridge and their choice to leave school.

Oh no, I don't agree at all. Until the sixth book came out, the fifth was my favorite of them all. I was really looking forward to it, particularly the battle scenes...and they were barely there!!

2.  Debs_place (5653) | 1 year ago |  I felt a lot of things were left out as well and I would like to get director's cuts of all of the movies, I want to see what was left on the cutting room floor.
What I wanted to hear, was at the very end of the book, where Dumbeldore send Harry to his Headmaster office, which he had closed off, the pictures said something about only someone deserving to be headmaster could be there. I feel that is a clue to book 7.
I guess you can only put so much in a movie, but I would have loved a longer movie - even if it meant an intermission in it.

| 3. livvy092002 (471) | 1 year ago |  Yes, i agree with you about the Luna Lovegood character. She seem like a mysterious kid and somewhat compatible with the personality of Harry. Well, i guess that is why the movie's scriptwriter has selected the character of Cho Chang to be the one who squealed the "army's" secret in order to give way to another "love team"? Well, who knows.. maybe the scriptwriter already had predicted the twists of the next harry potter movie, "half-blood prince"?
Let's just wait and see.
