Baby cereal recall! If you have a baby, you need to read this.

Just a few minutes ago, they announced on the local news that Gerber is going to recall it's Organic rice baby cereals. Seems that some of the lumps may not dissolve in water. I think this could potentially pose a choking hazard for babies. Noone has complained so far. But, just the thought is unsettling. As a mom, this makes me very angry! I cannot understand why Gerber did not do proper product testing before releasing their Organic rice baby cereal onto the market. When my little girl was just a baby, we depended on Gerber. And, we never questioned the purity or goodness of their products because of their long standing reputation. Why would Gerber drop the ball like this? Don't they understand that lives are depending on them? Very disappointing! I can only hope they choose to be more careful in the future, for all our children's sake!

I have never used gerber products before, mind you they were not available where I lived. I can understand how angry you are too, I would be if the products I used for my son were dangerous and could cause my son to choke. I've noticed there are a lot of items on the shelves being recalled. Sounds very scarey to me!

I think it is very bad when anything has to be recalled. There should be enough testing done so that we know a product is safe. We are counting on companies to provide us with safe toys and safe food for our children. Since Gerber is one of the primary makers of baby food, they should be able to be trusted. How sad and disappointing.
