The Garden of Eden and The Great Flood

This is such a debated topic, one the agnostics love to pick on and even Christians seem to have trouble with. The problem is that everyone wants to place it 6000 years ago or 4000 B.C.e..Thats the main problem, The story of creation wasn't writen biblicly untill around 2000B.C.e, so how did Moses write about this? Before then it was an Oral tradition passed down thrugh the centuries. The early Sumrians also wrote about the creation along with the garden the serpent, and even the flood and seems to paralel the biblical account. You can read the Sumerian epic Gilgamesh, who is their version of Noah. Infact every civilisation on every contanent has stories that paralel this, including the Greeks story of Atlantis. Why is this story imbeded in the phschy of man? becouse it did happen. But we need to understand that even though the Bible is the inspired word of God, It is not Him writting it, it was men who were not infalable. I know I will get a lot of hate mail from this but listen you can't say this part of the bible is literal and this part is symbolic. Most of it is alogory meaning it is picture and simbolic speach when dealing with pre Moses history and Prophisy. Only the historical times of the writers is literal. That being said we now have to conclude that the time period given by Moses is off, Infact we need to date it closer to 10,000 B.C.e at the end of the paliolithic age. If we read the bible we see the garden of Eden was place between four rivers where they met and form the head waters of one great river, Also in Gilgamesh we read this. So this puts the garden in Sumeria or moderen day Iraq. Problem there are ony two rivers there now, the eufrates and the tigris rivers. so what about the other two? Durinig this time we are talking about was the end of the last great ice age. The glasers were rising and water levels rose. Satellite imagry shows the two extent river beds, one comming out of Sudi Arabia and the other out of Iran. These four rivers would have met in what is now the Persian Gulf. The Persian Gulf before the great melt down was once infact the great river that the four others emptied out into. so eden is now under 20 feet of water. When the ice caps melted the sea level rose, and at the mouth of the indian ocian where the great river exited was probably a small land mass that acted as a damn. When this broke under the rising sea level the insuing flood was great and fast. Those that were fortunate to escape this ofcourse would have passed the story along thrugh the generations to remember what could happen. It was a life changing event. If we in our day and age were without the development of writing, we to would create stories and songs to remeber some great cataclism. A story full of simbolism and a hero bigger than life who helped save man from the desaster. I can' realy understand the people who want to say there was no flood, there was no garden of eden. The facts say diferently. They want to say Man could not have been created at this time becouse man has existed for over 100,000 years. Well in away they are correct. but 10,000 years ago the moderen man came around. The Cro-Magnan Man was dieing out and disappearing. With all his great accomplishments Cro-Magnan was not a true man as we are today. All of a suden Moderen Man appaered. This is Adam, Very intellegent with reasoning, and speech. Was able to start building dwellings and a closer community, and abstract thinking. Man lived in ignorence of many things. After man pertook of the forbidden tree it said the land was curssed and man had to work the land for his living, He was a hunter gatherer. He had to scavenge for fruits, berries and wild game. The metaphor of the forbiden frut is a hard puzzle to put together, but clearly something happened again to the earth this time becouse of man. The earth was not a boutifull place anymore, now man had to work the ground to produce. And it wasn't untill Noah that it became a little easier, Noah is said to have invented Husbantry, or simply put, farmming. Now about the infamus question about who did Cain marry? Some say he married his sister, well he didn't. Then who? if all there was was Adam, Eve and there children? Like I mentioned at the begining, this was the twilight of Cro-Magnan Man, very simuler to moderen man, with the distinktion of their forheads or brows, Cain took a Cro-Magnan wife. As it is said his decendents have a mark on their foreheads. It said he went into the land of Nod and knew his wife. Nod is hebrew for wandering. He went out wandering in the wilderness and canme across this Cro Magnan Woman and took her as a wife and bore children and then built a city. Infact all of Adams childeren must have done the same, or else we would all be a mongaloid retarted race from the inter-marring. Thrugh time the cro magnan race would have been thined out of the blood line. But thruogh DNA we can still see Cro-Magnan in Europian blood lines. So their are actualy sevral blood lines in existance today. And I am not being races or saying one is better or over the other. When the Ginisus story is looked at rationaly, we can see it is not this unbeleivable story, but a story of the awakening of man to the knowlege of God, and his plight to survive. It is the story of a world cataclism that man bearly escaped at the end of the last great ice age, wher life was changeing, and the old creatures were dieing out and new creatures emerging, and finding a place for ourselves in this new post ice-age world. So now I will receive all your hate postings for saying these things.

What is this cro-magnan Man, I've never heard about it before. There is no proof in the creation about such cro-magnan Man.

From where did you get all this information. According to creation, there is no mention of any other intelligent creation by God.

In creation it deals mainly with "men" that is the ofspring of Adam. Cro-Magnon Man is just a sciantific name given to the man of the upper paleolithic age 40,000-10,000 years ago who proceeded the Neandertal Man. Of course this name is not given in the bible, but you find in the King James bible the word "vagabond". This word was used to describe "wonderers", people who wandered around who had no place of their own (the cro-magon man). You need to understand a little hebrew here. It says Cain went into the land of 'Nod' and there he knew his wife. The word Nod means "WONDERING", It was not a name of a place or some kingdom, he went out wandering with the Vagabonds, met a girl, had intercource, had a son, found a place to set up perminate dwellings, made tents and founded the first city.

there are many books that were kept out of the Bible at the councel of Niccia. The Roman Church thought these books to be dangerous (indangering their athority) so they banned them from the Bible. These books deal with creation and other topics.

Seoguy... first of all this is a very big thing to read...phew... Thing is..I wonder people who were living long long time back...were so naive....they would not have even understood what the science and history is all about, I wonder how they must have passed on the information, when the language was not so developed...after all we all were evloving at that time....we all were trying to understand what Sun and moon and plantes are all about.... If I look from the evolution point of view....these things were written much later when we humans were evolved...hence at that time who was the person who auntehicate the information about cain able and other things....i knw my respond is very confusin...but dont worry i wud explain u if required!!!!

The lack of languge skill is part of the reason the stories were told the way they were. Thrugh time tings were added to the stories. If you look at the names of the people involved in all the stories leading up to Moses, and get the interpetaion of these hebrew names you will see that there names described what signifacance these people achieved. For igsample lets say I was in one of thes stoies, and I learned how to heard cattle, When the story of me was told three or even five thousand years later my name would heve been "rancher" or "cattleman"... "And Cattleman lived 900 years and begat sons and daughters, and he began to raise cows in Texas and this is why we now have cattle in Texas for he was tought by the Lord how to raise cattle". The languge and myth are very simple. Part of the passing down of the stories were the names themselves that describe the story. As for science, well ofcource much of this didn't evolve till around 4- 5 thousand years ago, and much of this was thrugh observation of nature and stories and names were given to these elliments. These were the first gods, that is the seasons were the first gods and the sun moon and stars, Later they also took animals to represent the seasons and forces of nature. The serpent was again one of the first gods. I am glad for your post, Yes I know it was a long post but I had trouble cutting it off.
