So I took Scarywhitegirl's fiance and "very carefully" managed to remove the clip earring backs from the diachroic glass. It was sort of a scary procedure involving nail polish remover and an exacto knife. But I have all my fingers and didn't even cut myself, so I consider the operation a sucess. Now to glue some new posts on.... What is the best glue for this? I currently don't have anything but white craft glue, which I know would be bad. I'm looking forward to suggestions as I have a few other glass projects that need some gluing too!

Hurrah! I'm glad you kept all of your fingers! :) As for the glue recommendation, I would go with one of two things. E-80 (it might be E-800... there's an E and an 8 for sure) or Gorilla Glue. The first is something that you can find at the craft store, while the latter is something you can find at the hardware store (and possibly Wal-Mart). I know that E-80 is meant to be used with glass; it's what people use to glue paper to those little glass beads and make magnets. Gorilla Glue is the craziest crazy glue ever. :) Either way, you'll need something to act as a clamp while it's drying. Depending on the thickness of the earring itself, a clothespin might work. But be sure to get earring backs that have a wide base beneath the post. Good luck! :)

Awesome. Thank you! I have heard of that glue the E-80 one. I'll have to check it out. I'm also happy to have all my fingers :-)

congradulations for being able to get the backs off of the glass earrings that you found i never would have thought about using nail polish remover and i do not even know what an exacto knife is haha thats good that you did not cut yourself though i am rather clumsy with knives i have a bad habbit of cutting towards myself when you are sopposed to be cutting away from your body i think the best glue to use is going to be either super glue or gorilla glue i do not think that white craft glue will hold very well for it is not made to be as durable as super or gorilla glue

i would recommend UHU glue. it's the best superglue i have come across. in its bright yellow packaging it's unmistakable.
