Seems everyone wants to lose a bit of weight. If you have been successful in weight loss, which worked best for you...eating sugar free/fatfree foods or just eating smaller portions of regular food? If you are in the process of dieting, what seems to be working best for you?

I do well on free/fatfree foods PLUS lots of salads, fish, chicken and fruit for snacks.

I have eaten both. I am dieting right now so I try to eat smaller portions of food that is not diet food. I do buy diet food from LA Weightloss which is snacks so I can eat two a day guilt free. LOL

Eating smaller portions works well. Four or five smaller meals during the day keeps your matabolism working in higher gear. Then of course, you need to add some exercise or vigirous activity. If you don't eat enough, you will be hungry and eventually give in to eating. I think the idea is to eat healthier, increase your matabolism and stick to your plan.

I've been on a weight loss program for the past 2 weeks (6 lbs lost to date...want to lose 35lbs total by December, my 40th). I have a fairly simple method. I eat smaller portions, don't eat after 7 PM. I wear a pedometer and try to walk between 6,000 - 10,000 steps per day, and I have completely cut out soda replacing it with water and V8 Fusion. I can already feel the benefits and I think I will reach my target weight.

I don't have to diet often, but when I want to cut back on calories, I would much rather cut portion size than buy low fat. . .yuk. I like flavor too much!
