I think that you need to keep looking for the hair stylist that will make up happy. However, I also think that sometimes you need to talk to a hair stylist about whether the result pleased you. For example, if you have dark hair and tell a stylist that you want to be blonde, they may make you the color blonde that they think will look best on you. That might mean a dark or honey blonde color. If you wanted to be really light blonde, then you might need to clarify that with them. When the hair stylist is done with your hair and asks if you like it, you also need to be frank with them about whether you are satisfied. For example, if you don't think the highlights were heavy enough, then you need to tell them that you had been hoping for a more dramatic effect. That would open a discussion regarding whether that effect can realistically be achieved during your next visit or whether for some reason the stylist feels it cannot be achieved. You can then use that information to decide whether to come back again to that stylist for a second visit or whether you need to move on.

Sometimes if you want your hair dyed they have to lighten your hair first. Like if your hair is black when you come in and you say you want blonde. Their not going to be able to make you blonde in one day without damaging your hair. So probably what their do is instead make you some sort of brown color. If you go back and say you want blond now then you'll probably get it. Depending on how brown your hair is and what shade of blonde you want. My advice: Just talk to the beautician. Ask her to explain it to you thoroughly. You're probably wondering how I know all this. Well I went to a technical school and I was taking up Cosmetology while I was high school. I chose to take it up for some of these reasons. I didn't want to have to go to the hair salon and pay someone like $100 for something I could just learn to do myself. I used to have some similar experiences with hairdressers not doing my hair how I told them I wanted it done. Just be sure to tell them that you don't like it, if you don't like. Most of the time they will try and fix it. Hope I've been of help to you.
