The wolds tallest eagle at one meter. Breeding season is limited only from July to February. They like to establish their nests on the tops of every tall trees, preferably in old growth forests. Only one egg is land by the female eagle every two years. The incubation period of the egg is between 58 to 68 days. Eaglets stay in the most till they are about five and half months old. If the female can lay another egg the following year. Parents will continue to care for their off spring until they are about 18 months old. Philippine Eagles kept in captivity can grow up to 40 years old. There only approximately 500 pairs of Philippine Eagles left in the wild. It is found only in the Philippines. The 8.4 hectare Philippine Eagle Center considered one of Davao City pride and major tourist attractions and serve as home to 34 of our national bird. The Center primarily operates as a captive breeding facility and has successfully hatched 16 out of the 34 present residents.
