Ok I got a letter in the mail from tha bank stating I was overdraft by like 180$!! I was like what The HEll? I didnt authorize that!! I did make a payment of 80$ with my visa on the 26th of July. And in 5 days Direct Tv tried to take 180$, 2$, and 299$. That just dosent make since! I am not over due on my bill and only owe 80$ so where are they getting 299$? Plus I only had enough in my account to pay the 80$ i owed. My husband called the bank froze our account and he has to go file a report in the morning. Then I think I will have a word or two with the direct tv people!!! Im really mad. I have made payments with them every month for 3 years and never had a problem. Has anything like this ever happened to you??

Nothing exactly like that but I did just discover that they are ripping me off too. I don't have the exact dates and figures on hand but basically my bill had been due around the middle of the month. I paid in June with a little extra. Then my service got shut off on the 14th of July. I paid the $65 they said was past due, I checked my statement on the 20th and it showed my next bill was not due until July 23th. I only get the basic $49.99 package plus HBO but just in July (up to the 20th)I was charged twice in the amount of $25 and change, had a "basic package" charge for $17, three different HBO chrges totalling almost $20 plus various other taxes and fees totalling $15. Now I was under the impression that the programming I had was around $60 a month plus any fees or whatever but that adds up to roughly $100 for July and doesn't count the $65 I paid in June or the $65 I paid when they shut it off on the 14th. I still haven't paid the bill they said was due on the 23th because I feel like I just paid it so why should I pay it again!
I should be working harder to straighten it out but haven't had time yet :( I think I'll only deal with them until January when my internet runs out and then look into one of those package deals for tv, internet and phone.
Hope you get everything straightened out!

Years ago Hubby and I had Direct TV. I went online to pay our bill. I did all the steps and just before the confirmation page the link dropped. So I tried it again. The link dropped again. I got fed up and just sent them a check. Three days later I get a call from the bank saying I'm over $100 overdrawn. Here to find out, Direct TV not only took both online payments but cashed the check as well. I called them up and they refused to put the money back saying they already credited them to my future billing. I asked them why in the h*ll would I pay a bill I didn't even have yet? By the end of the conversation, I had used language I've never used, threatened to sue them and they agreed to put back all but the one payment they were meant to have. By the way, a supervisor had to handle it b/c the twit I talked to at first didn't know her butt from a hole in the ground. Before I hung up, I told the supervisor they needed to send someone by b/c I was about to go chuck their dish, receiver and remote in my trash can. He told me I couldn't do that...I said watch me! Thats exactly where it went. I refuse to have anything to do with them!
