Would like to redecorate a room for less than $100. Need some tips. |
| |
| I'm really interested in redecorating our master bedroom and living room before summer is over, but I'm not sure if it's within our budget. Mostly, we need to repaint the walls and get some new bedding. I'd like to spend less than $100 on each room, if that is possible. Does anyone have suggestions on where I might find Cheap Comforters online or offline? And, where can I get affordable wall paint in a white color? My spouse says that white paint is $15 to $20 or more per gallon. Does anyone know where I could find it cheaper than that? I don't need anything fancy, just something basic to cover the walls. Any cheap decorating tips would also be appreciated.

| | go to second hand shops and find some fabric or something u can make your bedding out of if u can sew great if u can't u better get baking and get over to the friend that can. paint i would look at getting a plain colour but maybe look at getting an out of line colour to make one wall a feature wall this may cost next to nothing as a shop may only have one tin left which is enough to paint the one wall. white paint i would assume never goes on sale as everyone buys it maybe be a little risky and get some colour in your life | | | | | | |

| | You could always buy Oops color paint. Just shop around for something that you can live with. I have no ideas about bedding. I was going to say find your paint and match bedding to it later, but I don't know how wise of advice that really is. Maybe bedding should come first, but that would be hard to find an Oops color that would match up. | | | | | | |

| | That makes sense. But, I have never heard of Oops! color. Where would I get that from? That's the batches that aren't right when they come out? That could be interesting. I love surprises! | | | |

| | Any paint place has oops colors. Just shop around until you find something you can live with. Usually they are colors someone picked out and when the paint hit the wal, they were not right for the person. They usually put a little slap of the color on the lid or label, so you can see the color in its dry state. | | | |

| | Hi. I dont know what its like in your area or country of residents, but most areas will have "demolition" stores, whom sell alot of great stuff for under half price eg; interior and exterior paints, Also second hand or surplace stores, can be helpful too, people are always dropping off unwanted paint, and stuff, still in good condition... Its worth a try, to keep within your budget... I dont know what Comforters are so I couldnt comment on it... Goodluck bqueen... | | | | | | |

| | Perhaps you could find somethings on ebay or something. Usually though people just paint the room and rearrange it and clear out the junk and that makes a huge difference to any room whilest keeping to the budget of course. It is hard to transform something with little money but it can be done. It can look very different when you take things out and rearrange things to make the room look bigger than it is. I hope you are able to find some other good ideas, good luck with your search. | | | | | | |

| | Do you have an Ikea near you at all? I love that store. They have a lot of really cheap things and I pretty much think all of it is cute. I bought my Computer Desk there for like $15 dollars and my dresser for $50. They have a ton of decorating stuff (pictures, frames, posters, paintings, comforters, drapes, etc etc) that is pretty cheaply priced. If you haven't checked them out, that's an idea. Good luck.

| | Walmart has paint sections in the area I live. Sometimes you can get really good prices when you watch for sales. When you are shopping for bedding look around for "Bed in a Bag" it is the best way to save money on bedding. Comes with a set of sheets, a comforter, dust ruffle and pillow shams all in one. If you sew you could buy some really nice fabric and make a duvet cover for you old comforter. It is just like making a pillow case and then you choose whatever decorative touch to close the pouch..... the possibilities are endless. | | | | | | |

| | The best time to paint indoors is in the winter. There are more discount sales on paint. Everyone paints mostly during the spring-summer-fall months that is why it is so expensive. So I would hold off on the paint until it goes on sale. As for as comforters, I am not sure of inexpensives ones online. Maybe Overstock.com. If not there if you have any ROSS stores near you, they always have really nice Cheap Comforters and sheets and a large selection.

| | For Comforters you can find good ones at wall mart for fairly cheep. I payed 20$ for twin comforters. You can get good paint at wall mart or big lots. Its good paint and is about 10$ a gallon. Buy painting suplies like roller, tray, brush as a kit. Its usually cheaper this way. I am going to redo my sons room and I priced it at 65$ to do colored paint, supplies, and new bedding {sheets, one comforter, and pillow cases} for two beds. I thought that was a pretty good deal from Wall Mart. Hope this helps some.

| | I suggest to look at yard or estate sales for people who have over bought or bought the wrong color, and can't return it. If you are in the states or an area that has a freecycle group hit that up for wanted paint.... you might find some great bargains online at a local yardsale sight.... also. Mooch | | | | | | |

| | There are some great deals on the bed in a bags that you can find either online or in the stores. You might even check Sears besides WalMart and Target, Kmart. Thrift stores can also have Comforters or bed spreads that you might like. I have found some pretty ones there. The only problem is that sometimes they charge too much for them. But it couldn't hurt to check out your local thrift stores. You hadn't said if you could sew but if you did, you can use sheets or other things to make curtains for your bedroom and living room. I do that. Or Wal-Mart's craft department sells fabric, sometimes some pretty ones for as low as $2.00 a yard, just have to look through their selection. We just spent $40 and bought an entire bolt of this fabric that we liked and I just made a hem in each end by hand, not even on the sides and hung them on small tension rods that we also got at Wal-Mart for only $3.00. And they look beautiful if I do say so myself! :-) My mother buys the oops paint all the time at Lowes or Home Depot. She will buy a gallon here or there or that smaller can for only a few dollars and she has got some very pretty colors. True, they are not white but some of them are so beautiful and expensive paints but they can't sell them once the customer has refused them so they mark them down cheap. You might have to ask at the paint counter at the store if they have them or where they keep them. Yard sales are another great way to find things to re-decorate with. I've found that rummage sales for groups usually have the lowest prices though. I hope that some of these ideas will help. I love re-decorating and I watch Home and Garden Television [HGTV] all the time!
