what is the longevity of the acer laptop?  

i personally know of 3 laptops identical with the unit we have at home, they were bought on the same date and hardly used, and now 1 laptop has a keyboard with some nonfunctioning keys, 1 that has a dead battery, and one that in general is disappointing in its performance, its so slow! anyway, the point is, they're all victims of no use abuse. incidentally, after two years the laptop still works great! its not a high-end brand like acer though, its just an ecs unit. if i were you, i wouldnt worry bout the laptop durability, as long as you use it responsiblty, and don't put it back in the case immediately, let it cool down a bit, then that's the time you put it back in the bag. it should make your laptop parts live long, happy lives. so i say, don't worry, use it like any other pc. congrats on the laptop. acers are very good, and have nice tech support.
