is there a competition between men and women when it comes to leading a company?

i notice that ceo's are composed mostly of men. does that mean that men really tend to be the big bosses in the business world? are women deprive of the chance to lead these big companies?

I think there can be if people try to compete with each other openly. If it is done secretly, I think it won't be a problem at all.
