Geek Squad  

I had not heard of this, but I know it can happen. You really can't trust too many people these days. I can only thank the Lord that I went to school to learn about computers so I can normally fix my own when it goes down. In fact, I plan on building my next computer. Of course, I need to wait a few years since we just bought a new computer a couple of years ago, bought my husband a laptop last year and one for me this year. Now that we have three computers, I don't think we will need to build one for a while! LOL

Well, I haven't heard of anything nearly that bad as what you're describing. I know for a fact that they do overcharge immensely though, haha.

I think a relative of mine applied to work at Best Buy, but i'm not sure if it was the Geek Squad division. But he sure knows his computers though, I have no doubt he'd make a great geek on the geek squad (no offense, haha).

I've never needed to use the geek squad for their services - usually I go to a friend or a trusted computer store in order to diagnose my problems - or I Google them up myself.

I was going to get Geek Squad to build a computer for me, but I decided on getting a laptop. Kills two birds with one stone - I get a laptop and I don't have to worry about those Geek Squad guys.
