Women - don't ever consider using Depo Provera as a birth control method. It practically ruined my life. I developed these horrible boils all over my body. I still have scars from momst of them. Also, I continue to have breast tenderness. Some women lost their periods completely and some bleed continuously for months. It can even render you infertile years after taking your last shot. I took only one shot over a uear ago and I still suffer from the side effects. There are websites dedicated to Depo Provera horror stories. I wish I would have researched more before taking this drug. I urge you all to do so. Anyone else have any horror stories involving Depo Provera?

Oh my goodness, I just read all of the comments above, and I am scared for my life!
I couldnt imagine bleeding non-stop for 6 months, cramps included!
I am so grateful that I already have irregular periods to begin with. I only see my period once ever 3 or 4 months, so no birth control for me. Actually my doctor wanted me to go on birth control to "regulate my periods" but I said no thanks, im happy the way it is right now...
I doubt I could deal with having my period every month much less every day for 6 months, honey I am so sorry, and fever I do hope you get better soon as well... Im not sure what boils look like, but it doesnt sound good at all. There are some great oinments and such that might help rid you of your scars, I suggest looking that up before they become permanent...

I would really like to know what ointments will help me out. I'm scared of these scars staying. I have numerous ones. They're all around my abdomen area, but I have a couple on my legs.

Well I don't have any horror stories about depo. I took it for 2 1/2 yrs. The only thing it really did for me was stop my periods while I was on it. Frankly that wasn't a bad thing to me at all, saved money on buying tampons for 2 yrs. When my period finally did start back it was really light. I went from having a 6 day period to having a 4 day period. After having my kids it only last about 2 1/2 days :)
