Throughout varying regions of India, there is a popular tradition of flying kites on the Independence Day. The sky is dotted with hundreds of colourful kites and people engage in kite-flying competitions. Children and adults alike try to cut the others' kite threads and make others' kites fall to the ground while their own stays in the air. Balconies and roof-tops of houses are full of people flying kites and one can hear cheerful shouts of children in the evening as the kites soar in the sky.
So my Indian friends .. I guess you might be busy today in flying kites. Happy Independence Day!!!!

I used to fly kites in my teens, I was very found of flying and cutting others' kites. It is really a great fun (and exercise too) to fly kite high and high.....in the sky.......it always fascinating to see the sky on 15th August, dotted with different colours. It is really a great fun...when it is said......Wo Katta.....

Here in M.P.I haven't found that trend, that may be because people must be enjoying and comparing kites to themselves, flying free in air and independent like themselves.Even the day is holiday so its good to be bubsy and enjoying kites.HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, to my friend!!!!
