Since I live in an urban area, most of the caches I have done are in the city. I have spent many lunch hours finding the ones within walking distance of my place of work. I have also been on some good long hikes in the wilderness on weekends or evenings to find more remote caches.

Most of the caches I have discovered are 'traditional' caches -- just some sort of container hidden at the given coordinates. I have completed a few multi-caches, which can be fun. But I really enjoy the mystery caches, where you have to solve some kind of puzzle to discover the coordinates of the cache. There are a few in my personal log that I think I have solved but haven't had a chance to go find.

Though it's fun to see the different things that people leave I have to say I enjoy micro caches better. You can hide those just about anywhere which can make it really fun trying to find if it's in a busy area.

We recently found one at a place called Newport On The Levee. It's a big entertainment complex in Newport, KY. If you don't know where that's at it's right across the river from Cincinnati.

Anyway there was a micro right in the middle of the square. It was after six o'clock on a Friday night so the place was full of muggles. But there it was under one of the benches. We had to use some stealth which always makes it more interesting.
