Need a cake recipe for my sons birthday

Specifically one for a black and white checkered flag cake. He is turning 4 and we are planning to have a Cars theme. I saw a checkered flag cake in this months Target catalog but when I went into the Target website, they did not have the recipe listed. It looks really nice, looks wavy, very unique. If anyone has any cool checkered flag cake recipes to share, I would appreciate it.
