| 2008 Presidential Election | | | | It may seem rather early but the debates and the campaign ads have already started. Let's have a serious, civilized discussion about will be our next Commander In Chief. I'm a liberal and proud of it, but I like to hear from people with other points of view as well as those who agree with me. Let me start it out by asking the perennial poll question..."If the election were held today, who would you vote for and why?" Be prepared to be asked follow-up questions by me and other readers! The field is wide-open now but my opinion is that the GOP has one sorry bunch from which to choose while we Democrats have too many good ones to pick just one. I'm sure someone will disagree with me...LOL!!! | | | | | | | | | | Local Coupons 1 ridiculously huge coupon a day. Save 50-90% on your city's best! www.Groupon.com

| | I also like Ron Paul but unfortunately know he doesn't have a prayer which is too bad. Iraq is definitely a huge issue but it's certainly not the SOLE issue, or it shouldn't be! I've watched nearly every minute of most of the debates and it's interesting how the "war on terror" is the main thing the Republicans talk about while the democrats have talked quite a bit about other issues such as health care and the economy. Out of the Republicans I like Ron Paul and Huckabee, although I disagree with him on the issue of choice. I REALLY don't trust any of the GOP top tier candidates, including newly declared Fred Thompson. Even if they say something I agree with I have to wonder what they'll say tomorrow or what they said yesterday. And they better not even try to go the "family values" route this time around...LOL I see where you're coming from though, too many people on both sides vote strictly along party lines. While I usually do end up voting for a Democrat that's not always the case, I do pay close attention to all the individual candidates. It's just that when it comes to my basic beliefs the Democrats are for what I'm for and against what I'm against in general. Annie | | | | xfahctor (7620)

| | From what I see, ROn paul and Fred thompson have pretty much stuck to their guns on their issues. they'r not swaying with the political winds, thes are things that thay really believe in and both ahve pretty much said, if these aren't things you believe in , then I am probably not your candidate. | | | | | | | Local Coupons 1 ridiculously huge coupon a day.
