I can only remember losing two things. One was a gold bracelet(a chain style) and yes it is O'K for a man to wear one. Not only was it worth money but it had sentimental value which made it even more valuable. I think I scraped it off with a camera strap when I was it from my shoulder to take a photo and because of that and the phantom feeling that something is there when you wear it all the time, I didn't notice it was gone for several hours. I also lost a pen from my shirt pocket once that also had sentimantal value. Have you ever lost anything of value?

My most valuable thing isnt materialistc at all, its my mother, as i never valued nor will value anything as much as her, and its her loss that i miss the most. I feel materialistic things if we do loose, we can always some way or the other, regain them, maybe after a while etc, but if we have lost our loved ones, relationships, friends etc, there is nothing that can replace them. For me they remain my most treasured possessions and i value them the most. Talking of materialistc things, if you would ask, what i have lost and felt really bad about is an antique watch, that was gifted by my grandfather to me, it meant a lot to him, so it meant a lot to me too, and to date i feel bad having lost it, as it had lots of his sentiments attached to it, which he had entrusted onto me and somehow i was not able to look after it, though i still dont know and feel its misplaced somewhere in the house only.

I said thing rather than person on purpose since for most people losing people in their loves would be the biggest loses. I know my mother and father's deaths were certainly the hardest for me. I wasn't asking about that. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. You did answer that also and as I was the case for me what made it valuable was more the sentiment attached to it rather than the monetary value.

I am sorry, i know you were not talking of personal kinds of losses, but for me, my greatest losses have been these, as i dont compare other losses as that major. Yes, whatever i have lost otherwise had lots of sentimental value for me attached to it, so that was a loss for me.

Well I had this beautiful black gold ring. My dad gave it to me, and it had two leaves on it. I had it for many years before it came up missing. I have no clue where it is, but I still miss it to this day.
I would give anything to find it, as it was special to me.

I used to have a nack for finding things. My older sister lost some paper money on the way to the local grocery store when we were kids and came home after a long time during which she had been looking for it with no luck and was crying which was rare for her. So having one of my few chances to one up her, at that age anyway, I said kind of mean like come on and turned into the neighbors backyard we would walk through to go to the store and walked straight to it and picked it up and said "here!!!"

The most valuable thing I've lost...well it was actually stolen from my apartment, was my mother engagement ring. There were some other things stolen from my apartment, but like the other respondant stated, those other things can be replaced, but never my Mom's engagement ring.
