Where have I been? |
|
Yesterday I got a headache. I was so bad that I came home, ate (thinking it might be from not eating right) and went to sleep until time to get up and take some meds. Well, it was still with me then, not quite as bad, but I still had to go pick up some meds at the drug store so I asked the roomie to ride along. I came home, took that med & went back to bed. I discovered that if I slept on my left side the headache abated, but when I rolled over to the right side it came back. The real problem is that I can't take anything for this because of the drug study I'm going thru right now. Well, they'd let me take tylonol, but that would just make it worse so I won't take it. Any of you have headaches and can't take anything for them?

1. TheSpy (3399) | 12 months ago | Hi Elic: I am in a small hotel near the river. I just had my body waxed and I feel like I am on fire. I thought that I would log in to myLot to get my mind off my body. I don't get a lot of headaches but when I do I find that sleeping on my left side makes my headache go away. Sometimes I feel like I am going to through up so I get into bed and lay down on my left side and the spinning goes away. I wouldn't take any meds that my doctor didn't tell me to take. This means over the counter ones. Feel better. Ivor

3. Katlady2 (3876) | 12 months ago | I've never had any luck with Tylenol either when it comes to headaches. So far, I can take just about anything I want for them. But when I go for my gastric bypass surgery I won't be able to take anything but Tylenol, so I will probably be in the same boat as you. I hope you get to feeling better hon.

4. kitten1954 (1030) | 12 months ago | I suffer from headaches all the time, mainly from sinus problems and stress. Have you tried using reflexology for pain relief? For head and neck pain the base of the thumb is a good point. HUGZ from Kitten1954

ElicBxn (7029) | 12 months ago | I have used the reflexology some, but it seems to help more with the tension style headaches. Besides, the ones that woke me up from the sleep were so severe I feared to move. One of those, if I move I may throw up. And having had headaches that severe in the past, I've learned that any movement can set me off. So glad I'm over that cold! Now I've got a bladder infection! Grrrrrr

5. teapotmommommerced (3776) | 11 months ago | I am sorry to hear about your headache. Before I started on Topamax I use to get daily migraines. I know where you are coming from and most days there was nothing that would cut the pain. I would work and sleep and just continue with life with the pain. Good luck with you. I hope the new med you are taking for the drug study is not causing the headache.

ElicBxn (7029) | 11 months ago | It wasn't the meds - it was that stinking cold! I'm over it now - but man were those headaches severe! I've got sort of a dull ache today - think from kind of over sleeping this morning, but not real bad. I managed to drag my but out of bed in time to get the babies to the adoption on time. Had to come home & wait for the repair man. Finally had breakfast - at 5 p.m.! Gee, maybe this headache is low blood sugar!

6. book1962 (9144) | 11 months ago | Hope you are much better by now Elic and the headaches have subsided. When I have headaches the first thing I do is try and drink some water as most of the time the headaches come from not enough liquid in the body. Most of the time I ignore headaches and they have to be real bad till I take meds for it.
