I got an e-mail from one of my yahoo groups asking to spread the word about the Thinking Day Postcard Exchange. I am passing thi a long to you in hopes that you might join in help get the number of participants up. Here is a copy of the letter I recieved: From: ***********@ comcast.net Date: 2007/08/20 Mon PM 08:36:34 EST To: Undisclosed- Recipient: Subject: Thinking Day Postcard Exchange Hello everyone, It's time to start creating the list for the 2008 Thinking Day Postcard Exchange! This will be the eleventh year and we are looking forward to another great year! Please spread the word to all your Guiding and Scouting friends to help make this project a huge success. Last year we had 3145 US troops, and 675 international units from 43 countries that participated. To sign up or to learn more about the program, please visit www.mythinkingday. com and click on the Where are you? link and fill out the registration form. If the site shows a blank page it is because the site is busy with so many trying to access it so please keep trying. The exchange will begin the first part of September. Please spread the word about the project to those in your councils and any others around the world. Thanks so much. Jan McKinney Thank you for reading this and I hope that you can join in and participate!! Tammy

You might celebrate Thinking Day a little early by sending out Christmas post cards. Here is an idea for you and your troop. Take the front cover of Christmas cards, create a postcard by writing on the back of it. You will be recycling and doing a service project with this. Send them to the men and women in the Armed Forces about 3 weeks before Christmas to let them know they are being thought of. You can even add short notes to thank them for their service to our country. You might see if some of the community stores would help to defray the cost of the postage. Then as we get closer to the real date of Thinking Day, send Easter card covers that have been recycled into postcards.

I will talk to the girls about these ideas. I am having so much fun trying to get all 50 states! I won't be able to get nebraska unless some new troops from there join. I tried the three listed and was turned down on each. One is going to do a card on line, but it won't be the same as one in the mail.
